Celebrities! They’re just like us! They also get insanely regrettable tattoos on some part of their body that they feel embarrassed about……Okay maybe that’s not EVERYBODY. Some of these celebs broke the basic rule of getting tattoos, like getting the name of their significant other, getting their own name, or getting them in weird, inappropriate places. Regardless of what the tattoo is, we bet these celebs aren’t looking back on them with fondness! Here’s ten celebrities who probably didn’t think before getting inked.
Nick Cannon’s Unnecessary Back Tattoo
It’s still a mystery why people insist on putting the names of other people, especially their significant other on their bodies. Maybe if it was a bit more subtle it would be somewhat acceptable, but this is unnecessarily huge and would probably take a lot of time, money and effort to cover up. To give them some credit, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey lasted longer than most celebrities and even have children together. Unfortunately, they divorced down the line and Nick has to be reminded of that with her name permanently etched onto his back forever.
Angelina Jolie’s Arm Tattoo
Angelina Jolie may seem perfect in more ways than one, but even she isn’t immune to making dumb decisions. She decided to have former husband Billy Bob Thornton’s name tattooed on her arm, and when they got divorced, she decided to have it removed. You would think she would learn after that, but in 2011, she decided to get Brad Pitt’s birthplace in coordinates on her arm. She has three big tattoos on her back, one of them being a tattoo she got with former husband, Brad Pitt. I wonder what she’ll do now…
Hayden Panettiere’s Spelling Error
If there’s one lesson to be learned by this, it’s that make sure everything is correctly written if you’re getting a tattoo in a foreign language. Although Panettiere got this tattoo removed in 2013, she will probably be remembered for a long time for this unfortunately misspelled Italian tattoo. It’s supposed to say “live without regrets” in Italian, but unfortunately, there’s an extra “i” in the last word, making it not really say anything. Maybe she should have taken her own advice?
Steven Baldwin’s Miley Cyrus Tattoo
Steven Baldwin is a man who got a tattoo because Miley Cyrus told him to. Sometime in 2007, he met Miley who at that time, was playing disney darling Hannah Montana. He thought it would be a great idea to get on the Hannah Montana show as a guest star for his kids. Miley was only fifteen at the time and made a comment that he could only get on the show if he got a Hannah Montana tattoo. Although she was probably kidding, Baldwin got Hannah Montana’s initials on his shoulder for everyone to see. The sad part is, he never ended up getting on the show anyway.
Janet Jackson’s “Minnie” Problem
Unfortunately, we don’t have any pictures of this tattoo, and if we did, this article would be NSFW. So what exactly does Janet Jackson have on her body that could be so scandalous? The tattoo is on her inner thigh and it depicts Mickey and Minnie Mouse in a uhm……compromising position. Janet on the other hand, doesn’t regret it at all….for now. She thinks it’s funny and representative of a time in her life when she was doing a lot of experimentation in her 20s and 30s. More power to you Janet!
Justin Bieber’s “Better At 70”
Justin Bieber is no stranger to going under the needle, but some of them look like they might cause some regret in the future. The one we want to discuss is the one that says “Better At 70”. Bieber described the meaning of this tattoo by saying, ““I look back at a lot of things in my life, mistakes, insecurities, and although I have felt I’ve wasted a lot of time it also makes me want to be better faster! For me personally, I want to work every day to be BETTER AT 70.” He’s also encouraged his fans to get the same tattoo and posted the stencil on Instagram. Although it has a good meaning for you, Bieber, we’re not sure if that’s the case for everyone else.
Ryan Gosling’s Stick and Poke
The story behind Ryan Gosling’s er….monster tattoo is rather interesting. The regrettable part isn’t the tattoo itself, it’s the fact that he did it himself. It’s supposed to be a monster’s hand, but since he did it himself, it came out looking more like a cactus.
Nicole Richie’s “Virgin” tattoo
Nicole Richie has admitted that she has two tattoos that contradict each other. One of them, is meant to be a nod to her astrological sign, which is represented by the Virgin, Virgo. She has stated that this tattoo is her biggest regret, even saying in an interview with E News, “Now, I am a Virgo so when I was 16 I thought, ‘Ooh I’m going to be different and I’m going to put virgin because the Virgin is the sign for Virgo.'” She said she would change it, but she doesn’t know how. “I’d add an ‘i’ and an ‘a’ and say I’m from Virginia, but I just don’t think people are going to believe me. So I’m just stuck.” We hope she’s gotten it figured out since then.
Steve-O’s Ode To Self
Although Steve-O isn’t the poster-guy for good decisions, even we can admit that this is taking it a little too far. The kicker here is that this isn’t even the weirdest tattoo he has. He has two tattoos that Angelina Jolie has had over the course of her life. The first is her Khmer symbol and the second is the Billy Bob tattoo. I guess imitation is the best form of flattery?
Mike Tyson’s “Iconic” Face Tattoo
Okay, sure, this tattoo is iconic and a part of Mike Tyson’s public persona now, but was it really a great idea when he first got it done? Tyson got this tattoo in 2003 to represent his “warrior status” as he says in his 2008 documentary. Imagine he didn’t get famous? He would be just a normal guy with a scary face tattoo.

In 2012, Heidi Klum decided to leave her former husband Seal, which left her with a tattoo on her inner arm that still revealed his name. Pictures of Klum reveal that her ex’s name has since been removed. However, the part of the children’s names which were part of the tattoo remain intact. That’s comforting!
Demi Lovato’s Lips
Although Lovato raves about her love for her tattoos, there’s one of them she’s not so fond off. She called the tattoo of a friend’s lips on the inside of her forearm a “stupid” spur of the moment decision. She decided shortly after to cover it up with a tattoo of a rose instead.

Megan Fox recently removed her once-very prominent Marilyn Monroe tattoo that was on her inner forearm. When she initially got the tattoo, she said it was because she looked up to the screen siren. However, she decided to remove it because she wanted to distance herself from some of the more negative aspects of Monroe’s life.

Liam Hemsworth, JLaw’s co-star in the hunger games convinced the star ti get a tattoo of the symbol for water, H2O. However, the tattoo didn’t really come out as planned, and Lawrence has regretted it ever since. “I was with Liam’s family and everybody was getting tattoos, and I was like, well, I’m always going to need to be hydrated, so I guess I should get H2O on my hand. He revealed that “It cuts down on the amount of time I have to spend in makeup covering them up.” However, Fiddy isn’t completely tattoo-free, he swears he kept a tattoo on his back.

It’s reported that the singer wasn’t happy with his full-sleeve tattoo and so he decided to get a skin graft to cover the ink. He said of the experimental procedure that, “It’s going to be pricey, but worth it.” Good thing he can afford it!
