Because of this, the members of the rescue service decided to head to one of the local beaches. With their cameras in their hands, they walked with the two firefighters who were the stars of the show.
The team stayed on the beach until the sun started to go down before they finally jumped into action. They had their target audience, which was people staring down at their phones. They started doing what they had.

If you cannot switch your phone to ‘airplane mode’, you need to turn it off and put it away until you land. One pilot, however, has come forward to explain exactly why this is.
Most people remember that apparently cell phone use put airplane passengers in danger. The claim was that it could interfere with the plane’s hardware.
However, according to pilot Patrick Smith, that fact should be outdated as he stated during an interview with the website WalesOnline in June 2017.
Smith stated, “It’s unlikely that a mobile phone can cause problems in the cockpit, particularly on modern aircraft where components are, by design, carefully shielded.”
“But it’s not impossible. I’d guess at least half of all phones, whether inadvertently or out of laziness, are left on during a flight.”
“That’s about a million phones a day in the United States,” Smith continued.
“If indeed this was a recipe for disaster, I think we’d have more evidence by now.” However, that is when Smith revealed the main reason why this rule was in place.
Smith explained, “Ultimately, the phone thing is more of a social issue than a technological one. That is, do you really want to be sitting on an airplane listening to 200 people chatting away simultaneously?”
“It’s possible that airlines are using the mere possibility of technical complications as a means of avoiding the social implications of allowing cellular conversations on planes.”
Another pilot, Chris Foster also shared the same view. Foster also stated that mobile devices shouldn’t be any kind of problem today. However, he did make it clear that the “myth” did once carry some weight due to the technology of the time.
