As a typical heavy-attituded, entitled, self-centered woman, she failed to realize the noose that had been hung around her neck. “Is this some kind of joke?” She called out angrily. The waiter inspected the bill and told her, “I apologize, I’ll get you the correct bill in a moment.”
He returned soon after. Her knees trembled when she saw the revised bill.
James Bauer was a very successful owner of a high-end restaurant. It was the night before Christmas and he had a terrible day. His family begged him to spend time with them, but he knew he was needed at the restaurant.
James knew that he had to sacrifice time with his family in order to keep the restaurant going, but that did not mean he was okay with it.
James borrowed a large amount of money to renovate his family business. It had been passed down from his grandfather, and he had a sentimental attachment to it.
James knew borrowing money was a risk, but it was a risk worth taking.
He felt discouraged as the restaurant was not doing well, but all of that changed when his store got featured on a local YouTube Channel. Everybody wanted to dine at his restaurant and critics came in by the dozens. As a result, James began serving celebrities.
Thanks to the restaurant’s increasing popularity, people had to wait months to get a reservation. Some people, though, appeared to believe they were immune from this rule.
Christmas Eve was always a busy day, and he did not have enough staff to help him manage the restaurant. Due to this, James had to work by the door and greet the patrons. His eyes caught sight of a woman and her friends. Immediately, he felt trouble brewing.
“This place is awesome,” the woman said excitedly to her friends, “…food is amazing, there might be celebrities here.” James felt good about what she said and brushed off his strange feeling.
James had to be responsible financially when it came to his business. He tried to spend as less money as possible on his overheads, and to get more money he advertised VIP tables to his customers.
Dining at one of the VIP tables was a pricey experience and many guests attempted to dine there free of cost, that night was no different.
The strange woman approached James and asked, “Table for six, please.” James looked at her with cautious eyes and replied, “Of course, can I please get the name on the reservation?”
The woman arrogantly replied, “I don’t have one, but it’s okay; the owner is a personal friend.” James could not believe what he was hearing.
James knew for a fact that he had never met this woman before. He informed her that without a reservation, she and her friends won’t be able to dine there.
She rudely informed James that if he does not comply and give her a VIP table she would get him fired from his ‘lousy minimum wage job.’ He looked at the woman and after the busy day that he had he needed some amusement.
James was aware of what the consequences of his actions would be, but he continued with his plans anyways. The woman had no regard for others and she could not get away with it, even if that meant that James would lose money.
James took a deep breath. It was time to get revenge.
James profusely apologized to the party and seated them at a VIP table, free of cost.
He provided them with complimentary food and drinks and the group was ecstatic. Little did they know, that it was all part of James’s plan.
VIP tables have a special menu with no prices. Since the ladies were in the VIP, James handed them one. He told them it was a busy night and their orders would take a while.
Trying to get them to order as much food and drinks as possible. The ladies rudely placed their orders. But James was patient.
After a night of great food and drinks, the woman then asks for her bill. Earlier that night she had told her friends that everything was on her. When she was handed the bill, she nearly collapsed. “Is this some kind of joke?” she screamed at James.
He looked over the bill and politely replied “Oh yes, I apologize, I’ll get you the correct bill in a moment.”
James realized he had forgotten to charge a few items. She sighed a sigh of relief expecting to see a smaller bill when James returned.
She had gone all her life believing that she could push anyone over with no real consequences. All that was about to change.
She was like a car traveling at 200 mph headed straight for a concrete wall. James returned with a whopping $4,352.23 bill for her. And the music stopped!
“You must be kidding me,” said the woman with a shaky voice. “Why, ma’am, is that not what you ordered?” asked James. The woman went over the bill line by line. The world was collapsing in on her.
She asked if she could be excused. James, though concerned, remained calm and simply reminded her, “Ma’am, we have your ID on file, do not attempt to leave.”
She quickly rushed to the bathroom. The noose was on her neck, and James was applying pressure.
A couple of minutes later, she returned to the table with a fresh face of makeup and a heightened attitude.
“You must be out of your mind; your food was trash. There’s no way I’m paying for this, I have the owner’s number, and I’ll call him,” the woman exclaimed.
Guests on other tables turned over to see what the fuss was all about. James promptly put her in her place.
“Ma’am, I am the owner, and this nonsense has gone far enough. You didn’t have a reservation, and I gave you the table you wanted, it’s time to pay for the experience you felt entitled to,” said James calmly.
The undefeated, heavy attitude champion of the world. Had finally met her match. She realized she was out of options. Her company just sat there like frozen dolled-up manikins.
The woman signed the check, grabbed a few hundred dollars from her purse, and stormed out embarrassed. And James thought he was never gonna see her again.
Two days later, while James was in the back office. The woman returned with an older gentleman who must have been her father. And he was fuming. Like a pro, James didn’t pay them any attention.
He made them wait for about 30 minutes and then attended to them. James had irrefutable proof of her behavior caught on camera.
After the older gentleman had seen the highlights of her behavior, he was furious. He stormed out with her, shouting at her to the car.
Overall, James didn’t lose any money on the table. And he got the satisfaction that we all deeply desire, taming a badly behaved and entitled woman.
